Duros 8404 tablet pc from Roper which was introduced last February is getting a little upgrade on its display. Sport a 8.4 inch touchscreen display, now the display has 1,100 nit brightness and 120-degree viewing angle. to make it still readable properly under direct sunlight.
Intel MID video demo from IDF Beijing
Video of the Intel MID presentation held at IDF Beijing this week has been released , complete with prototypes of some of the devices to be powered by the latest – and future – Atom processors . Intel’s press release [PDF link] from the event covers the new devices, which include a Menlow-based clamshell smartphone. Video after the cut Existing MID designs were joined by a number of new devices. Most interesting are the BYD Mars smartphone, which is a clamshell handset running XP and powered by a Menlow chipset, and the NFS MID (in the lower right-hand corner of the large group photo), which has a convertible touchscreen and a 5-row keyboard. ASUS T91 touchscreen netbook clears FCC
ASUS’ upcoming convertible touchscreen tablet netbook, the ASUS Eee PC T91, has cleared the FCC , paving the way for a US launch. Unlike some filings, the T91’s does not include internal shots – which have, for previous devices, given modders an idea of how customizable the products will be. There’s also no sign of the Eee PC T91GO, the UMTS HSDPA-equipped version of the netbook announced at CeBIT back in March. That could mean that ASUS have no plans to launch the integrated-3G version of the netbook in the US, or that a separate submission to the FCC is planned
Motion C5 & F5 slates get Verizon WWAN & SSD options
Motion Computing have announced new Verizon EVDO WWAN and SSD options for their C5 and F5 Tablet PCs. Buyers of the two slate-format touchscreen PCs now have a choice of integrated 3G together with WiFi a/g/n and a new 64GB SSD. The company has also added a new Core 2 Duo processor – the U7500 1.06GHz ULV – and given the F5 a new black exterior so that scuffs and dirt are less noticeable. There’s also a new external battery charger, making all-day use more straightforward.
