The ASUS Eee PC 1008HA “Shell” netbook has passed through the FCC , on the way to what we hope is an imminent release in the US. Announced at CeBIT back in March , the Eee PC 1008HA is an ultra-thin 25.7mm netbook with an Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor, 160GB hard-drive and 1GB of RAM. As for its FCC certification, that’s for the 1008HA’s WiFi b/g/n chipset; the netbook will also have Bluetooth, together with optional UMTS/HSDPA or WiMAX connectivity. Not bad for something that weighs just 1.1kg despite the 10-inch 1024 x 600 display and predicted 5hr runtime. No official pricing for the US ASUS Eee PC 1008HA has been announced, but we’re expecting to see the “Shell” go for around £359 in the UK. That would work out to a roughly $511 in the US. It’s expected to hit Europe this month
